This shopping center sits on a parcel of approximately 3.5 acres and has approximately 42,000 square feet of retail space. The median family income of residents in this census tract is 56% of the median income for Mercer County and 22% of the residents in this census tract are below the poverty line. For nearly fifteen years, the City of Trenton had undertaken several strategies toward the redevelopment of the shopping center with little success. Using Supremo Foodmarket as the developer and major anchor along with construction and permanent loan funding provided by a TICIC-formed consortium, the City of Trenton finally brought the Westside Plaza shopping center to this neighborhood.
